Self-Sufficiency
The GROW Program
The MINT Foundation GROW Program provides supportive wrap-around services that focus on collective impact and minimize barriers to make a long-term impact on financial and housing security. By providing a program that focuses on self-sufficiency and changing the mindsets of individuals, we can equip individuals with the tools, resources, and array of support needed to decrease their financial instability and increase the wealth necessary for housing stability. To increase affordable housing and reduce the racial wealth divide, The GROW Program would provide financial literacy classes, credit restoration sessions, credit building classes, homebuyer seminars, short-term housing financial assistance, and long-term housing financial assistance.
The GROW Program consists of the following:
-
Outreach Services
The team will work with community partners to assist clients in exploring alternative housing options and provide housing-oriented workshops for clients.
-
Housing Payments
The MINT Foundation would negotiate rental fees, deposits and first-month rent for affordable housing placement.
-
Credit Score Restoration/Building
Provide individual credit plans for individuals to repair their credit scores. In extreme cases, provide a one-on-one coach to work with a client to restore credit.
-
Financial Literacy Classes
Provide an 8-week financial literacy class for program participants to increase savings and decrease debt to income ratio.
-
Down Payment Assistance
Provide assistance to qualified homebuyers for down payment or closing costs associated with purchasing a home. The down payment assistance would assist home buyers in achieving the dream of affordable homeownership.
