Governor Abbott SNAP Benefits Announcment

"Governor Greg Abbott today announced that the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is providing approximately $246 million in emergency SNAP food benefits during May as Texas continues its response to the COVID-19 pandemic."


DeSoto Military Appreciation Day

DeSoto's Veterans Affairs Committee will host an appreciation event for Veterans and their families on Military Appreciation Day, May 15th at 4:30 pm. All active duty and retired military are invited to DeSoto Town Center for a free burger sponsored by In & Out Burger.


FEMA Funeral Expense Assistance

In early April, FEMA will begin providing financial assistance for funeral expenses incurred after Jan. 20, 2020 for deaths related to coronavirus (COVID-19) to help ease some of the financial stress and burden caused by the pandemic.
